Web Services Subject Matter Expert

A Fortune 500, dynamic diversified high-technology company has an immediate need for a Web Services Subject Matter Expert in Monterey, CA.

Job Description

  • Provide subject matter expertise to support the exploration and exploitation of web technologies, methodologies, and applications in the NetCentric FastTrack Support environment at Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center in Monterey, CA.
  • Work in a collaborative environment to investigate and explore potential technologies and sources.
  • Participate in demonstrations, reviews, and product evaluations to provide recommendations.
  • Host, integrate, and demonstrate selected technologies in the NCFTS environment to evaluate technology utility, value, and usability.
  • Provide web systems engineering to prepare technologies for deployment into the ATOS2 operational environment to include programming and recoding, development of applications and services to support new technologies, and operational capability demonstrations.
  • Provide technical support to promote the functionality, performance, and infrastructure of the NCFTS system during technology exploitation and engineering.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science.
  • Active Secret DoD security clearance. (inactive, ready to reactivate)
  • 5-7 years of experience in analysis and programming for Web services.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Web technologies, methodologies, and applications for FORCEnet.
  • Ability to manage and plan for installation, integration, test, and deployment of alpha, beta, and mature Web services and applications.
  • Ability to analyze and develop requirements to modify or develop new applications and interfaces for Web technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in Java, SQL, SOAP, XML, and RDBMS.
  • Ability to collaborate as a subject matter expert with customers and technical staff in Technical Exchange Meetings to support investigative outcomes and technical issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must. (Successful candidate will prepare numerous reports and documentation).
  • Knowledge of Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center environment is a plus.
