Solution Delivery Excellence User Experience Consultant
Location Negotiable

The mission of the SDE group is to support value creation by helping Accenture engagements improve productivity, quality and predictability of solution delivery

The User Experience Consultant will plan and execute focus groups, user interviews and JAD sessions. Assist application design team with gathering functional and user requirements, creating use cases, user profiles and scenarios. Lead UI Design team in creating information architecture and user interface design. Plan and execute usability tests, develop UI prototypes, and document user interface design standards and guidelines. Communicate user centered design objectives and goals to client executives and other development teams. Mentor junior team members on user centered design principles and processes.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of UI technologies and user centered design concepts and is a client facing consulting role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct front end analysis, interviewing, focus groups, requirements gathering
  • Use storyboarding, user scenario development, high-level use case definition, user and task analysis, to capture and develop user requirements and integrate elements into user interaction designs.
  • Create, evaluate, and modify high and low-fidelity prototypes to support development process. Facilitate iterative testing of prototypes.
  • Design highly usable interfaces for multiple channels - Internet, handheld PDA, tablet PC, and touch screen kiosks, etc.
  • Design and develop usability plans
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate usability tests
  • Provide recommendations based on test results
  • Provide heuristic analysis of existing user interfaces
  • Optimize processes with user-centered design concepts
  • Lead training classes on usability, interface design, and information architecture
  • Research usability issues as they apply to Internet, handheld PDA, tablet PC, and touch screen kiosks
  • Promote user centered design principles throughout the organization
  • Serve as a resource of human factors based knowledge and design

Required Qualifications

Work Experience: Ideal experience would include information architecture and interaction design for large scale web sites, portals and eCommerce sites. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate working knowledge of human factors and user-centered design.
  • Degree (related discipline: Human Factors, HCI, ID and Computer Science with specialty in User Interface Design, Graphical Design or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in the field
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate user-centered design principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces
  • Proficient with HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript and working knowledge of other popular Web technologies
  • Proficient with Adobe PhotoShop
  • Demonstrate written and oral communications skills and the ability to articulate ideas effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and conceptual skills
  • Experience in full software development life cycle
  • Proficient at project management skills (e.g. project planning and estimating)
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines

Desired Qualities

Other skills (nice to have):
  • Proficient in developing taxonomies
  • Experience in human factors research

Important Additional Information

Travel: 100% travel required.
Location: Chicago, Dallas New York/New Jersey, Atlanta and San Francisco.
