Senior UI Designer
AOL Entertainment, Mountain View, CA, USA
The AOL Product Design group is looking for a Senior UI designer for our entertainment products team.
You will spearhead the user interface design for the AOL Media Player and other entertainment applications and you should have a good understanding of the digital entertainment space.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with various organizational team members from Engineers to Product Managers and VP's.
- Experience designing client applications and/or complex web applications.
- Critically review user interface designs from a user-centered design perspective.
- Extensive experience crafting detailed interaction design specifications for QA and Engineers.
- Ability to collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Business owners, and Quality Assurance throughout all phases of a project.
- Solve complex user interface design problems.
- Possess good diagramming and screen layout skills to create product flows, navigation maps and screen layouts.
- Proficiency in industry standard UI design software in the basics (Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Acrobat, Visio, OmniGraffle).
- Lead brainstorming and ideation sessions to generate innovative solutions to complex design problems.
- Not afraid to question problem definitions and reframe problems to address the underlying issues.
- Visualize and model complex concepts, workflows and navigation systems Experience with shipping products, and cross-platform design experience is preferred.
- Desire to apply research practices/UCD design principles in innovative ways and within tight timeframes.
- Have working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and other web technologies and tools.
- Flash or other dynamic/interactive prototyping experience is a plus!
