Help our Washington-based customers deliver technology that better suits people, and new workflow processes that increase people’s effectiveness.

Perform "human-centered engineering" tasks for customers, such as developing usability requirements for new or upgraded systems, or planning for collaborative technology adoption.

Job Responsibilities

• The ability to analyze the effectiveness of collaborative systems for a particular group
• Knowledge of techniques used to develop an understanding of how members of a particular group are currently working with technology, such as contextual inquiry, ethnography or workflow analysis.
• The ability to identify, prioritize and resolve difficult client problems within their assigned work areas and provide guidance to team members as needed
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, especially when presenting information to audiences unfamiliar with HCI or social science techniques

Required Qualifications

• BS minimum, but preferably MS, in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Engineering Psychology, Social Science, or Organizational Science.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience experience designing technology for people.

Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, MITRE will consider only applicants with security clearances at the TS/SCI level.
