Job Description

Organic is currently looking for a Senior Information Architect for an immediate opening in our Detroit-area office. The Senior Information Architect (IA) is primarily responsible for creating tactical solutions for Internet and multimedia project strategies. They manage the integration of the information design and project concept. They are also responsible for the document deliverables, including: Discovery Document, Investigations, Interactive Design Specification, Site Architecture Map, and schematics based on Organic Creative methodology and standards.

The Senior IA must demonstrate a professional demeanor, with strong interpersonal, problem solving, and project leadership skills, as they serve as a mentor to the IAs and associate IAs. They are also responsible for corporate and departmental initiatives as agreed upon with the creative director. The Senior IA may be assigned the creative lead role.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Portfolio review required.
  • Three to six years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: multimedia, agency creative, production/planning, 3-D design (architecture), Internet design, graphic design.
  • A degree or training in a related field.
  • Has successfully delivered above and beyond all information architect job and skill requirements.
  • Strong ability to tactically address and advocate for the end-users experience.
  • Has successfully demonstrated an understanding, responsibility, and accountability to all client deliverables.
  • Ability to negotiate, communicate and inform within the creative and project team.
  • Ability to effectively recommend strategies, and estimate and execute development requirements and assumptions with the business development team.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with designers.
  • Ability to manage time and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work with a large variety of clients.
  • Consistently demonstrates a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Directs responsibility for developing and communicating the user interface and the project (site) structure.
  • Serves as a conduit between creative group and client.
  • Prepares and presents visual aids, including story or mood boards, prototypes, etc.
  • Initializes and manages any creative brainstorming meetings.
  • Understands visual design and conveys it to client when the designer is not available. Protects the integrity of the agreed upon visual design with clients.
  • Adheres to the delivery schedule maintained by producers. Notifies team of any changes in schedule.
  • Prepares all Creative Information Architecture documents. All deliverables should fulfill Organic Creative methodology, process and standards and reflect the strategy and audience agreed upon with other department leads.
  • Communicates with production to coordinate site concept, interface and navigational structure of project with functional aspects.
  • Signs-off on successful integration of visual design, content, user interface and the structure of the project.
  • Assists information architects in fulfilling Creative department deliverables.
  • Actively mentors information architects.
  • Fulfills corporate initiative assignments.
