The listserver for the Prospective Internet Technical Group (ITG) is now operational. Initially, we have subscribed all members. If you do not wish to receive these mailings, contact the list administrator Chris Forsythe at jcforsy@sandia.gov. To post to the listserver, send email to itg@sandia.gov and the posting will be distributed to all listserver subscribers. If you encounter any difficulties, contact Chris Forsythe at jcforsy@sandia.gov. Please be patient. We have never run a listserver of this nature and there will be some kinks. Any correspondence regarding the list should be directed to jcforsy@sandia.gov and NOT the list itself. Helpful suggestions are welcomed, as well as any offers of assistance/consultation from members more experienced running a listserver than ourselves. Use of the listserver is restricted to members of the ITG. Suggested uses include: posing questions (e.g., How many menu items are too may?); making contacts (e.g., Is anyone working on UI design for libraries?); announcing events (e.g., upcoming Workshop on Web UI Design); general information sharing (e.g., Canadian ice storm knocked out Internet service to Sri Lanka). To post to the listserver, send email to itg@sandia.gov and the posting will be distributed to all listserver subscribers. General Rules NO Advertisements - the listserver runs on a machine that is property of the United States government. For this reason, all advertisements are prohibited. Using the listserver to distribute advertisements could result in revocation of our approval to use resources of Sandia National Laboratories for ITG purposes. The one exception is job announcements. For job announcements, please include the words "Job Posting" in the subject and provide a return address. All replies should be sent to the person posting the job and not the listserver. Include a signature in all postings where you may be contacted. Before replying to a posting, consider whether the reply is of interest to all subscribers or only the person posting. If the latter, send reply ONLY to the person posting. Do not include attachments or insert URL links. If you wish to divert readers attention to graphics, presentations or other items that increase the size of the posting beyond that of a typical email, direct the readers to a separate URL. Be nice!
