Virtual Volunteering! This 'ITG thing' is a pretty cool place for all those interested in web technology. But, what may not be known is that it was created, and is run, by volunteers. Busy professionals in the industry who have given up some of their time to make it work. From the guys who put so much work into setting it up, to those who run the listserv and those who created and run the ITG web site, the newsletter, the job section, and many more, this is a team effort from a team that envisaged ideas and put plans into action to make them work. The ITG is still in its early stages but will take off in a major way and we are trying to make it encompass the whole of the 'webbed world', embracing all of the issues that surround and face the internet today. I am co-ordinating some of the volunteer effort to get new ideas flowing that will include events such as discussion forums and general awareness of the capabilties of the internet by asking for volunteers to spare a little time to suggest ideas for ITG 'events' or to create subsections that address specific issues. If you are interested in being a part of the ITG team, or just want to convey some ideas, suggestions, comments, or even suggest improvements etc, then please drop me a line at rakhi@dircon.co.uk. Thanks in Advance...
